Plenty of birds with a very good guide I spent one week in Gambia and one week in Senegal with Musa Manneh (Bird Watching Tours Gambia) as my guide. Musa is eagle-eyed, can identify any bird quickly, and is pleasant to deal with. I had 103 lifers on this trip. Hotel reservations and such were all well organized. Both drivers were very good.

Birding with Expert : Musa This is our second adventure with Musa on a 3 day birding tour from Bakau to George town. Back in 2022, Musa guided us on a few day tours near the Coastal towns. It was enjoyable and rewarding experience then. This time, we just continued our journey up River for more exciting birding opportunities. Musa arranged the whole tour and it is a very reasonable price. We travelled in a comfortable vehicle and also had a safe driver. With Musa extensive knowledge, we found our target birds and more! Highly recommended👍 Thank you, Musa!

A tour to repeat ! Musa was our guide on an 8-day tour of Gambia and Senegal. He's an excellent ornithologist and has extensive knowledge of their habitats. Thanks to him, we were able to photograph a great number of species. A wonderful person! We highly recommend traveling with him.

Excellent bird watching trip! I went on a birding trip with Musa end of Oct-beginning Nov. Although it was only the beginning of the dry season, Musa managed to show me lots of interesting birds as well at the coast as inland. I had 2 target species (Klaas' cuckoo and carmine bee eater) and he managed to show me both. But on top of that we saw many other birds which I could perfectly take pictures of. He is very good in detecting the sound of specific and interesting birds which allowed us to really target particular and colourful birds. I have done many bird watching trips but this definitely stood out in quality thanks to Musa. Besides being an excellent bird guide, he is also a very kind and nice person. When I felt a bit ill, he took care of me and managed to give me a very nice vacation period in many ways. Thanks Musa and hope all the best for you.

Bird photography Gambia-Senegal tour We spent 12 days with Musa in June 2025 travelling in Gambia and Senegal. I should point out that the trip was exclusively photographic. The trip was well organized, we reached all the planned points and visited all the bird hides that we had agreed about before the trip. Also, we had all boat trips that we planned and took extra. Musa is very punctual and responsible, caring and very easy to communicate with. His driver is very careful and a nice guy too. Musa is an excellent and very experienced guide, who knows the birds very well and understands what a photographer needs. Musa never gives up trying to find the bird species on our target list, and at the same time tries to show the maximum diversity. Musa is also very patient, which is a big challenge for many guides that are working with demanding photographers. Musa also knows very well Gambia – Senegal regions and many birding places in some cases very small and secret 😊. Despite the fact that we were not in the recommended season, we managed to see 217 species, including some rare like Red-chested Cuckoo, Abyssinian Ground-Hornbill, Temminck’s Courser, Western Banded Snake-Eagle, Bataleur…. In one tour we saw all Kingfishers and Rollers species of Senegambia. I can only say that, contrary to popular opinion, June is a great time to go on a photographic trip to The Gambia or Senegal, to focus on resident bird species. The trip was much better than we could expected, and this is thanks to top guide Musa.

Searching birds in the Gambia Musa is a very good guy with excellent kind of decent humor. He´s very enthusiastic, empathetic and open-minded. He came to me via one my friend on recommendation and I´m very grateful he spent all two weeks with us.He showed us the maximum of birds within reasonable price and he didn't look at us as only a source of money. I come from Central Europe and prices oriented to the Western Europe are not reachable to me. Musa kept it in his mind, therefore I´m extremely grateful to him and he stays deeply in my heart. Among our business rules we became also friends. He is in my eyes a very good choice of the guides for beginners.I would like to mention also his driver, Mr. Modoulamin "Doudou" who joined us in the trip. Very good guy as well :-)I strongly hope that we can stay friends in the future and I believe this is not my last contact with him.

Musa is the best!:-) The best experience with a guide. Musa is a very pleasant and empathetic guide, the first few days he tries to assess the group he is in charge of and then tries to make sure that each individual enjoys it.

Best birding experience Had a very good experience with Passy - (Ebrima Cesay) .He is in my eyes the best birding guide of Gambia. Stayed 3 days in Kairo Lodge and visited the area around to see and photograph many exotic birds. Then we went to Tendaba Lodge and did the mangrove boat trip to see another lot of birds, like Pelicans, several varieties of Kingfishers,Plovers, Storks and many other. No effort was too much for Passy. He is a "connaisseur " as far as birds are concerned. A pleasant personality !

Great birdwatching tour with Musa We went on a 11-day birdwatching trip with Musa Maneh. We did 5 daytrips from the coast to different places and a 6 days inland tour to the north bank, Bansang/Georgetown and Tendaba. We had an amazing time. Musa is a great guide for birdwatching. He is passionate, friendly and very knowledgeable. He goes out of the way to try to find as many species as possible and knows all the birdsounds. He also has a very good birdhide where we saw the very rare capuchin barbler. Also he drove us to a place for the egyptian plover. On a boat trip we even saw a wryneck! Helmet strikes, 4 different kind of owls and many raptors were among our many highlights. At the end of our trip we saw 250 species. An excellent score! If you are looking for a great bird guide when in Gambia, don't hesitate and contact Musa. You won't regret it!
